The Universal Order of the Rose (UOR) is a Franciscan Orthodox Catholic Religious Order.
Many are led to believe that the Roman Catholic Church is the only Catholic Church. This is not true. In fact, there are many valid expressions of the Catholic Faith. They consist of the Roman Catholics, Eastern Orthodox, Independent Catholics (includes Old Catholics, Liberal Catholics and Anglicans).
UOR’s Apostolic Line of Succession includes Orthodox, Roman, Independent and Anglican.
We are not under the jurisdiction of the Roman Pontiff, the Orthodox Patriarchs, or the Archbishop of Canterbury.
UOR is a member of the Universal Apostolic Church.
We are an autocephalous and independent expression of the Catholic Faith. We demand no adherence to any dogma, and find that our faith grows day by day.
We offer the traditional Seven Sacraments of the Catholic Faith which are; Holy Eucharist, Baptism, Marriage, Reconciliation, Confirmation, Healing/Last Rites, and the Holy Orders.
All those who sincerely wish to join with the Church as followers of the Christ are welcome to share and participate fully in our liturgies, sacraments and other expressions of our mystical union with God.
The offices of bishops, priests and deacons within the Church exist for the service of the faithful in providing them with spiritual guidance and support, as well as in the celebration of the liturgy and the sacraments and other functions pertaining to those ordained to holy orders. Holy Orders are open to both married or single males and females in the Franciscan family
UOR focuses on community issues such as; abuse and neglect of children and the elderly, health and wellbeing, education, both temporal and spiritual, and working with the homeless.
Matthew 25
35For I was hungry, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in
36Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
